Town Hall

Project Detail

Visakhapatnam’s historic Town Hall, a colonial-era civic icon from the late 19th century, was revitalized to reclaim its role as a community hub. Its Victorian-style facade, mangalore tiled sloping roof, wooden turrets, wooden flooring, whitewashed plaster and tall arched windows, was meticulously restored using lime-based plaster and natural pigments. I crafted restoration plans, conducted defect mapping, and supervised site work, addressing structural cracks and water seepage. Our conservation management plan, developed with Savani Heritage from 2019–2021, ensured compliance with ASI guidelines, preserving the hall’s ornate interiors and robust masonry. The restored Town Hall now thrives as a vibrant venue for cultural events, embodying Visakhapatnam’s rich heritage and fostering community pride in its storied past.
