In Thindivanam, Tamil Nadu, we revitalized a historic Tamil Nadu-style farmhouse for KCP, breathing life into its vernacular charm while relocating three additional heritage buildings to create a cohesive cultural ensemble. The farmhouse, with its sloping Mangalore tile roof, open verandah, lime-plastered walls, teak semicircular windows, and intricately carved columns, was meticulously restored using traditional lime-based techniques and natural oils to preserve its authenticity. The relocated structures, sourced from diverse Tamil Nadu regions, were carefully dismantled, marked, and reconstructed with precision, guided by my detailed drawings. I oversaw documentation, execution, and sketched plans for their placement, access pathways, and native landscaping, ensuring seamless integration. From 2021–2024, this project, compliant with ASI and ICOMOS standards, celebrated Tamil Nadu’s rural heritage, transforming the site into a vibrant testament to sustainable conservation and architectural legacy, inviting visitors to experience its timeless beauty.
