Old Municipal Office

The Old Municipal Office in Visakhapatnam, a colonial-era gem, was restored to preserve its Indo-Saracenic elegance and civic legacy. Built in the early 20th century, its arched facades, red brickwork, and plastered cornices reflect British architectural influences. I developed restoration plans, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and defect mapping, identifying cracks and plaster deterioration. Lime mortar and natural finishes revived the facade, while structural reinforcements ensured longevity. My site supervision and conservation management plan, executed with Savani Heritage from 2019–2021, adhered to ASI standards, maintaining authenticity. The restored office now stands as a proud symbol of Visakhapatnam’s administrative heritage, serving as a cultural landmark that bridges the city’s colonial past with its modern aspirations.
